Original 1957 Gretsch 'Chet Atkins' Solid Body Model 6121 plus white original Tolex case.

The '57 Gretsch Chet Atkins Solid Body model 6121, to give it its full name. Sunset Orange maple top, mahogany back and sides, twin DeArmond Dynasonic pickups, rosewood neck with hump-top inlays, original Bigsby tremelo with proper Bigsby aluminium saddle on a solid rosewood base brige. In superb condition for the year with a straight neck and no issues.
I have been asked by Ed Ball, who is currently producing a Gretsch database on the models 6120 and 6121 amongst others and has asked for the serial number of my 6121, which I am happy to provide. It is 22438 Ed and checks out as a '57 in the Gretsch Book. The number is engraved on the cover plate on the back of the guitar together with the model name.

Gretsch Tennessean 1962 and case.

This Gretsch Tennessean guitar was bought for me in November 1962 from Ron's Music Shop in Ilford, Essex and still has the Ron's logo on the back of the head stock. It is absolutely immaculate and still has the original frets. It has 2 Gretsch Hi-Lo Tron pickups and a Bigsby trem. I chose it well before George Harrison used the same model in the film Help! It has a great feel and is a joy to play. Contact me on lion509@hotmail and we'll talk about it.

An original 1934 Gibson L5 'F' hole acoustic guitar and original case.

This guitar is amazing. Hand crafted at the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo in 1934, it has a solid spruce top and heavily figured birds-eye maple back and sides. Full sized non-cutaway body in tobacco sunburst. It was loving restored by Dick Knight, the famous luthier and personal craftsman to many star players in 1974 and owned by me ever since. It has the original tortoise-shell scratch plate and brass hardware and a 25 1/2 inch scale length with an action and feel to die for. I bought it from a certain Mr. Yeats, an old orchestra player from the forties, who told me it had been used to 'comp' with some of the big-band 'greats'!
I don't have a clue what it will fetch, but if you're interested, please contact me on lion509@hotmail and we can talk about it.

Gretsch Astro Jet 1967, original case.

Gretsch Astro Jet made in 1966, this is one of the few true solid body models that Gretsch made. 2 Super Tron 'humbucking' pickups, a 24 3/4'' scale neck refretted with Gibson style wide frets and a Burns factory-fit trem, finished in fire engine red front and black back. Contact me on lion509@hotmail.com for more info, pictures and to work out a price.

By the way, the dog is house trained and doesn't bite...unlike the Astro Jet, which has a very biting sound.

Atlas Pyramid Super-Strat

Atlas Guitars are a very successfull custom guitar builder in Bangkok. They have a catalogue of stock designs, but will basically do what you want with the finish, frets, pickups etc. This guitar was built for a guitarist simply know as Pookie, who works in Pattaya and is one of a number of great players here. If you're ever tempted to ask 'where have all the really great guitar players gone?' the answer is Pattaya, Thailand! The guitar is made of swamp ash with a flamed maple neck and an ebony fingerboard, a Floyd Rose locking trem and Atlas's own R-Supersonic humbucking pickups. It also has a flame maple top and thick gauge frets. It is simply the best Strat I have ever played..

Fender Stratocaster 1987 Japan - Big head stock '70's reissue

Cream maple neck Strat, played in. I have lots of guitars, but this is the one I use pretty much all the time, because it's very easy to play and has a very versatile sound. Looks a bit like a Hendrix Strat.

Cobran FA1 Superstrat - Made in Japan

I chose this one off a wall full of guitars because it had features that put it a cut above the rest; it is Japanese for a start; it has a good choice of pickups; 2 single coil and 1 humbucker at the bridge; it has a slimmer than average neck that reminds me a bit of a Jackson; biggish wide frets that don't slip when you bend strings. It was made I would guess in around 1990; at least at a time when they could still afford to fit proper, Grover type machine heads. I bought it primarily to power a Roland guitar synth, but that will not be going with it at the price, surprisingly!

Around $400; but I'll argue if you want it.
